This policy explains what personal data The Finance Circle collects, why, and what you can do about it. Last updated: 20 October 2026.

1. Who we are

The Finance Circle is a trading name of SouFBP SRL, a Belgian company that provides training and consulting in financial storytelling and communication for finance professionals.

SouFBP SRL is the controller of your personal data.

We reply to every privacy request within one month.

2. What we collect and why

We only collect the data we need for each of the purposes below. We never sell your data.

 

Newsletter and free resources

Data: name, email address, country, which emails you open and click.

Why: to send you FP&A Stories and information about our programs.

Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link.

 

Buying a course

Data: name, email address, country, purchase details. Payment details are handled by Gumroad and never reach us.

Why: to give you access to the course, send course emails, handle refunds and keep accounting records.

Legal basis: performance of our contract with you, and our legal accounting obligations.

 

Emails to existing customers

Data: name, email address, the programs you bought.

Why: to send you occasional emails about similar programs and offers. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest, as allowed by Belgian law for existing customers.

 

Financial Storytelling Maturity Model questionnaire

Data: your answers, and your name, email address, job title and company if you give them.

Why: to calculate and send your result, and to build anonymous statistics on finance teams.

Legal basis: your consent.

 

Testimonials

Data: name, email address, job title, company, photo, your text or video, your sharing choice.

Why: to publish your testimonial where you allowed it, and to send you the thank-you gift.

Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

 

Contact requests and calls

Data: name, email address, company, your message, the time slot you choose. Calls are booked through Google Calendar and held on Google Meet.

Why: to answer you, schedule and hold the call.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in replying to requests, or steps before a contract.

 

Live sessions and masterclasses

Data: name, email address.

Why: to send you the invitation, the link and any follow-up material.

Legal basis: performance of our agreement with you, or your consent.

 

Corporate training

Data: name, work email, job title, workshop work.

Why: to organise and deliver the training your employer booked, and send the follow-up material.

Legal basis: performance of our contract with your employer.

 

Website visits

Data: pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location, cookie identifiers.

Why: to measure visits and show relevant ads (see section 3).

Legal basis: your consent through the cookie banner.

3. Cookies, tracking and advertising

Our website uses cookies that are needed for it to work, and other cookies only if you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.

With your consent, we use:

• Google Analytics (Google) to understand how visitors use the website

• Google Ads (Google) to measure which ads lead to a visit or a purchase, and to show ads to people who visited the website

• Meta Pixel and Conversions API (Meta Platforms) for the same purposes on Facebook and Instagram

• LinkedIn Insight Tag (LinkedIn) for the same purposes on LinkedIn

 

The same tools may also be active on our checkout page, hosted by Gumroad, so we can tell which visits led to a purchase.

If you decline cookies.

We use Google's consent mode. When you decline, Google tools set no cookies, but Google still receives limited signals without any identifier, such as the fact that a page was viewed. Google uses them only to estimate overall visits and conversions, without being able to recognise you.

Embedded content.

Some pages show videos from YouTube or Vimeo and testimonials displayed through Senja. When they load, these providers may receive your IP address and set their own cookies, according to their own privacy policies. Where possible, they only load after you accept cookies.

Advertising audiences.

We may share the email addresses of our newsletter subscribers and customers with Meta, Google and LinkedIn, in a hashed (encrypted) form. These platforms use them only to match you with your account so we can show you our ads, or to stop showing you ads for a course you already bought. They then delete the email addresses they could not match. This is based on our legitimate interest in letting our audience know about our programs. You can object at any time by writing to soufyan@thefinancecircle.com, and we will remove you from these lists.

You can also adjust your ad preferences directly in your Facebook, Instagram, Google and LinkedIn settings.

Our social media pages.

 

We have pages on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. When you visit or interact with them, these platforms process your data under their own privacy policies.

 

For our Facebook and Instagram pages, Meta gives us anonymous statistics about visitors, and Meta and SouFBP SRL are jointly responsible for those statistics. Meta handles the related requests, and you can also write to us at soufyan@thefinancecircle.com.

4. Who we share data with, and for how long we keep it

We work with a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf and only under our instructions:

- Wix: hosts our website and contact forms

- Kit (ConvertKit): sends our newsletter and course emails

- Gumroad: processes purchases and payments, and delivers the course

- Senja: collects and displays testimonials

- Tally: runs the Maturity Model questionnaire

- Google Workspace: email, call booking (Google Calendar) and video calls (Google Meet)

- YouTube, Vimeo: host the videos shown on our website

- Google, Meta, LinkedIn: website analytics and advertising (section 3)

- Our accountant: keeps our accounting records

 

Some of these providers are based in the United States. When data leaves the European Economic Area, the transfer is covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

 

How long we keep your data:

- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe

- Purchases and invoices: for the period required by Belgian accounting and tax law

- Course access data: as long as your course access lasts

- Testimonials: until you ask us to remove them

- Contact messages: up to two years after our last exchange

- Analytics data: up to 14 months

 

After that, we delete or anonymise it.

5. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you can at any time:

• ask for a copy of the data we hold about you

• correct data that is wrong or incomplete

• ask us to delete your data

• limit how we use it, or object to its use, including for advertising

• receive your data in a format you can reuse elsewhere

• withdraw a consent you gave, without affecting what happened before

To use any of these rights, write to soufyan@thefinancecircle.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on the request.

If you think we have not handled your data correctly, you can file a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Autorité de protection des données / Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit), Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, www.dataprotectionauthority.be. We would appreciate the chance to fix it with you first.

6. Security

We use providers with recognised security standards, protect our accounts with strong passwords and two-factor authentication, and limit access to your data to what is needed.

7. Children

Our programs are designed for professionals. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

8. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our tools or practices change. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change affects how we use data you already gave us, we will tell you by email.
